	Introduction
	The Hospital has a fully fledged Dermatology Department since April 2013. It is located in the third floor of the OPD building. Routine OPD is run from Monday to Friday daily from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm excepting holidays. An average of 90 to 100 patients is being seen daily. *In Patients Services:* We have separate ward rooms for male and female patients. Patients of serious dermatological disorders like Pemphigus vulgaris, Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis, severe drug reactions etc are admitted and treated

	*LASER UNIT,* *Dermatosurgery Unit,* *Phototherapy Unit,* *Cryosurgery Unit* LASER unit:
	New service started on March, 2015
	Our LASER unit is equipped with state of the art LASERS. We have Q switched Nd YAG LASER, Long pulsed Nd YAG LASER, Fractional CO2 LASER and Pulse Dye LASERS. Our centre is the only centre with pulse dye LASER in the whole Eastern India.

	PHOTOTHERAPY UNIT:
	We have well equipped phototherapy unit with: NBUVB whole body chamber, NBUVB Multiutility Phototherapy unit and NBUVB Comb. Patients with various types of skin disorders esp vitiligo, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis benefit from phototherapy unit

	DERMATOSURGERY UNIT:
	Our Dermatosurgery unit has the latest equipments for various types of dermatosurgeries especially vitiligo surgeries like punch grafting, suction blister grafting, split skin grafting, melanocyte suspension transfer etc. Moh’s Micrographic surgery for skin cancer has also been done with flap reconstruction. We also do FUE hair transplantation

	CRYOTHERAPY UNIT:
	New service started. Various skin tumours and infectious conditions are treated.
	Academic Programs:
	The Department regularly takes theory classes for undergraduate students (MBBS & B.Sc Nursing). The classes are taken in power point projector. There is clinical posting in our department for undergraduate students. They are taught clinical dermatology as well as they get opportunity to see various dermatological procedures and phototherapy. The faculty also attends regularly the Clinical Grand Round and Mortality meetings every Saturday and Medical Education Programme.
	Ongoing IEC Approved Projects/ Researches In The Department
	A randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled, half-head study to evaluate the effect of platelet-rich plasma on androgenetic alopedia. Clinical, Trichoscopic and histopathological features of primary cicatricial alopecias: A retrospective observational study at a tertiary care centre of north east India. A randomized, single blinded, comparative study of efficacy of NBUVB alone and NBUVB in combination of low dose oral mini pulse in patients with progressive non segmental vitiligo. 'Amateur Tattoo' removal by radiofrequency ablation. A retrospective observational study. DBT funded project. Albino mice keratinocyte culture in citrated human plasma on a novel scaffold.
